Terms & Community Guidelines

These terms apply to miauly.cat, the PWA, the Miauly Android app (com.miauly.app) and related Miauly services, operated by Boyan Breznishki, Vasil Levski 44, 2140 Botevgrad, Bulgaria. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Miauly.

Minimum age

Miauly is intended for people aged 16 and over. Accounts are not intended for children under 16. Miauly does not ask for or store a date of birth during registration.

Android app and Google Play

If you install Miauly from Google Play, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on your devices for its intended purpose and under these terms.

These terms are between you and Miauly only. Google is not a party to them and is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support. Questions, claims and support requests go to support@miauly.cat. Google Play’s own terms also apply to your download of the app from the store.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to accept these terms. If the law where you live requires parental consent, use Miauly only with that consent. Keep your sign-in method secure, provide accurate account information and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by Miauly’s failure.

Purpose and acceptable use

Miauly is for documenting community cats and coordinating lawful, humane care. Do not use it to:

• harass people, harm or exploit animals, or trespass;
• disclose sensitive locations or impersonate others;
• manipulate shared records;
• distribute malware, or scrape data contrary to access controls;
• break applicable law.

Do not arrange medical treatment, trapping or relocation beyond your competence or local authority.

Content rules and reporting

Miauly is a community for cats and the people who care for them, so content that harms people or animals is not allowed. Do not post, upload or share:

• content that is illegal, or that sexualises or endangers children (we have zero tolerance and will report it to the authorities);
• sexually explicit content or nudity;
• harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination;
• animal cruelty, graphic violence or content that encourages harm to animals or people;
• personal information about other people, such as home addresses, phone numbers, vehicle plates, or images that identify a person without their consent;
• spam, scams, fake or misleading accounts, impersonation or deceptive advertising;
• malware or anything that disrupts the service.

How to report

Use the Report option in the app on a cat profile or other content, or write to support@miauly.cat. Reports are reviewed by Community moderators and administrators.

How to block

You can block another member from their profile in the app. Blocking stops that member’s content from appearing to you and stops them from interacting with you, and you can unblock them at any time from your block list. Blocking is private, and you can use it together with Report if the content also breaks these rules.

What we may do

We may remove or hide content, restrict features, suspend or permanently block accounts for serious or repeated abuse, and report unlawful content to the authorities. Content that breaks these rules may be removed without prior notice. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Your contributions

You retain ownership of content you create. You give Miauly a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical presentation, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote the service according to your visibility choices. This licence ends when content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, legal records or anonymised/shared Community history.

Only upload content you have the right to share. Contributions must be reasonably accurate and must distinguish observation from diagnosis or speculation. You are responsible for avoiding personal information, copyrighted material and exact animal locations that should not be public.

Public profiles and Community records

Content you mark public can be viewed, shared, indexed and previewed without an account. Community records may be visible to authorised members and can form a shared history that outlives one contributor’s account. Miauly may limit, anonymise or remove identifying attribution while preserving legitimate collective cat history.

Roles, corrections and moderation

Stewards, Moderators, Country Admins and Global Admins have different tools for maintaining records and handling reports. A role does not create ownership of a cat or authority over other people. Role holders must act proportionately, document important decisions and avoid conflicts of interest. Miauly may correct, restrict, hide or remove content and may suspend accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, integrity, legal compliance or service security.

Health and safety disclaimer

Miauly records and educational guides are not veterinary diagnosis, professional rescue instruction or emergency services. Never rely on an app status as proof of treatment, sterilisation, ownership or safety. Contact a veterinarian, rescue organisation, emergency service or responsible local authority when the situation requires it.

Advertising and sponsored content

Miauly may show direct sponsorships or other paid placements, which are labelled as sponsored. Advertising helps fund free access. A sponsored placement does not mean Miauly endorses the advertiser’s claims, and you are responsible for checking an advertiser’s own site and terms before acting on them.

How sponsored placements work and what data they use is described in the Privacy Policy. Any third-party advertising provider or personalised advertising will be disclosed there, with consent controls where the law requires them, before that processing begins.

Third-party services and links

Miauly depends on providers such as Supabase and Cloudflare and may link to veterinary, rescue, map or other third-party services. Their availability, content and separate terms are outside Miauly’s control. A link is not an endorsement. You are responsible for checking third-party instructions before acting.

Changes and availability

Features, limits, public routes and data formats may change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance, security or circumstances outside our control. We may add, remove or charge for features with reasonable notice where required. Export or retain any information you cannot afford to lose; Miauly is not a substitute for veterinary or legal records.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Miauly is provided “as is” and “as available” without a promise that every record is accurate, every feature is uninterrupted or every queued item will synchronise. Miauly is not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Ending use

You may stop using Miauly at any time and delete your account in the app under Options & Tools → Account & security.

If you cannot sign in, use the public account deletion page to request deletion without reinstalling Miauly, or email support@miauly.cat. What happens to your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach, an immediate safety or security risk, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a chance to explain or correct the issue.

Law, disputes and changes

Bulgarian law applies, without removing mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country. Courts and dispute bodies with mandatory jurisdiction remain available. Contact us first at support@miauly.cat so we can try to resolve a concern.

We may update these terms. Material changes will receive reasonable notice, and continued use after the effective date means acceptance where permitted by law.
